There is also a bus at 4:40pm which arrives in the evening in Syracuse. Other ways to get from Potsdam, NY to JFK (or NYC, in general) are to fly from Saranac Lake airport directly to JFK on Cape Air airlines. This is a seven seat, small aircraft, but offers commercial service from Saranac Lake to JFK.
